ICoLA 2019

Plenary Lecture 1: Dr. Stefano Del Prato is the Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Pisa School of Medicine and Chief of the Section of Diabetes, University of Pisa, Italy. He is a past president of the Italian Society of Diabetology, a past vice president of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, and is the current chairman of the Scientific Committee of the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes. Dr. Del Prato's research interests have always been concerned with diabetes and, in particular, the physiopathology and therapy of type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance syndrome. Plenary Lecture 2: Dr. Goldberg is a Director, NYU Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Dr. Goldberg graduated from MIT, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Goldberg has published over 200 articles including written numerous book chapters, editorials, and reviews. Dr. Goldberg’s research has focused on abnormalities of lipoprotein metabolism, macrovascular disease in diabetes, and the role of triglycerides in atherosclerosis.
